Teaching and training

Study_books The Surgery is a teaching practice and normally there is a GP registrar attached to the practice and available for consultation.  Registrars are experienced hospital doctors who spend a year at the surgery in order to qualify as GPs.

We also have Foundation Year 2 doctors working with us. They come to us for 4 months as part of their specialist training scheme . They are qualified doctors on their way to becoming consultants and become a very valued part of the team.

Dr Waraich, Dr Patel, Dr Pabbarju, Dr Kerenalli & Dr Kumar are all clinical supervisors supporting these doctors through their training.

As we are a training practice we support the local training programme in helping trainee doctors establish their career. It may be that your consultation is taken by a trainee doctor but this will only be done with the support of a GP clinical supervisor and you will be informed prior to your consultation. These consultations are often for minor illnesses as all appointments are assessed once the patient has been seen to discuss any concerns or questions the training GP will have.
