Clinical Pharmacists - I Hamza and M Zamakda
A clinical pharmacist is an expert in medicines; a pharmacist is trained for 4 years at university to obtain a Masters Degree and continue their studies for a year of training. Clinical pharmacists complete further clinical training after qualifying and this may include training to prescribe medicines. Our clinical pharmacist will work with individual patients within reviews to make sure the medicines they have been prescribed continue to be of benefit to each patient, taking in to account any changes in symptoms or clinical circumstances. As well as seeing patients to discuss their individual medicines the clinical pharmacist will form part of the multidisciplinary practice team providing advice to the doctors and nurses about the best medicines to prescribe for patients who have complex medication needs. Our clinical pharmacists take a lead on our Long Term Conditions Review. This is where the pharmacist will assess your up to date health results and help optimise your care and medications where appropriate.
