Pharmacists

Mr Jayesh Radia

A clinical pharmacist is an expert in medicines;  a pharmacist is trained for 5 years at university and also during work based placements. Some pharmacists complete further clinical training after qualifying and this may include training to prescribe medicines.

Our clinical pharmacist will work with individual patients to make sure the medicines they have been prescribed continue to be of benefit to each patient, taking in to account any changes in symptoms or clinical circumstances. This will be a medication review appointment, patients are encouraged to ask questions about medicines they are prescribed and also those they purchase when they meet with the clinical pharmacist. As well as seeing patients to discuss their individual medicines the clinical pharmacist will form part of the multidisciplinary practice team providing advice to the doctors and nurses about the best medicines to prescribe for patients who have complex medication needs.

Community Midwives

Ruth Smith, Zaheera Essat

We have a team of midwives from the Leicester General Hospital who visit the practice to ensure your pregnancy goes as smoothly as possible.  The midwives will ensure all tests, checks and the monitoring of your pregnancy are carried out at prescribed intervals.  They will also help you choose where you want to give birth, what to do after the birth and advise you on claims and grants available.  Once it has been confirmed that you are pregnant, please inform the reception and they will ensure that the midwife puts you on their list.  The midwife will then contact you to arrange a first booking either at the surgery or at your home, depending on your needs.
